In the heart of Holt, Lanes Jewellery has been crafting such treasures for over four decades, blending exceptional artistry with the warmth of a family business that’s earned the trust of generations.
Nestled in the town’s Georgian Market Place since 1981, Lanes is admired not only for its quality stock and boutique setting, but for the dedication that defines its service and the story behind its name.
At first glance, the shop could be mistaken for a high-end city brand, with elegant displays of diamonds, gemset pieces, premium watches and more. Yet behind the polished façade lies something far more personal: an independent, family-run venture built on creativity, craftsmanship and care. The journey began with Michael Lane, whose artistic spark was lit by a chance encounter with a skilled diamond mounter in his father’s fishing tackle shop.
A visit to the gentleman’s London workshop the following week left Michael captivated by the enthralling trade. He decided to try his hand at jewellery making, and what started as a hobby in his parents’ garage soon evolved into a full-time calling.
